They're probably going to be really expensive, and they'll definitely be really light and easily the best spike out there.

Anyone know what brand tends to be the lightest?
This is my first time buying spikes and I have no idea what to buy....
Most of the people on my team wear mizunos, and they look absolutely ballin', so I think I might get some.
Input?
I just want light spikes, I don't care about cushioning or anything.

u say you dont care about cushioning, but once your in a race youll care. dont just go with the lightest necessarily. look for what fits your foot best and what you feel comfortable in.

Not to be mean, but maybe you're running too slow if you're paying attention to your cushioning during races.xc_babe09 wrote:HXC_Runner2012 wrote:Anyone know what brand tends to be the lightest?

yeah, i pay attention to
1) weight
2) snugness
3) traction
without a snug shoe your foot slips around inside of it and movement is wasted. likewise, bad traction also wastes movement. low weight is the biggest, a light shoe makes it easier to run. cushioning is bad....any energy you use to compress cushioning is wasted energy.

Alright, so this is a lame question, but since I know nothing about spikes I figured I'd ask:
Would it be a good idea to practice running in spikes? Like just to get used to them before I race in them?

If you start to feel sore don't run them in spikes though. I personally never run in spikes except at races.
