Funniest Track And XC Moment?

Whats the funniest moment of all your track/xc seasons?


Mine would probably have to be when during one of our meets we had like 10 minutes before the 1600m so i decided to go to the bathroom..... at this same meet this girl i liked came to watch and the rest of the guys on my team knew i liked her..... so while i was taking a crap they decided to go and ask her out for me...... they all told me when we were on the starting line for the 1600m..... she never gave an answer since i had nothing to do with it...... so the next day during practice i asked her out while running mile repeats and she said yes.....

now the whole thing was really funny because i had no clue it happened and i was in the bathroom the whole time...

On a 7 mile run in the mountains I had no idea where I was or where I was going and I turn the wrong way.
Not funny but I have nothing else. I never fell in a race, never ran into a tree. So this was the best i have.

When I was a freshman I was a dirty racer. I would push people into walls,water fountians, or I would gradually move them over by running left and make them suddenly run into a wall. Then I got dq'ed becuse people complained and they watched me and I cut off some kid and made him hit a water fountain. So I still race rough but, not as bad.

funniest was when I was helping at a middle school track meet.

alrighty: It was a distance medley and our middle school team was in last the last leg was this air headed girl who only had to run a 400. They gave her the baton and our coach told her to "cut in" (as in go to lane 1..) SHE thought they meant go in the infield. So she started running up on the grass stopped and was like, what?? Our coach just about had a stroke, he then yelled "NOOO! GET BACK ON THE TRACK!!" the air headed girl started running on the track, but in lane 8.. then my coach slightly pushed her into lane 1... I was dumbfounded, and its not very encouraging to see the next batch of freshman coming. not to mention, that whole moment took about 20 seconds or so. Since we were running the meet we didn't disqualify any teams..especially our own. GOD they are SOOOO dumb!! ergh

I almost died laughing though

this one time, a really dumb girl got lost on our home xc course, and was lost for like2 hours.

there was one kid who was slow in one of my races they sent 2 or 3 highschool teams out on the course to go find him..... it was only 4k course since i was in middle school then...

wow.... people are brilliant these days

One kid from another school was in last by a lot and was practically walking. I saw him and respected him for racing even though he was far back, until I heard a coach tell an official he had cut the course.

state track was a lot of fun

hmmmm i'll list all the great times and things
-cooling down after the 4x800 (last event of the first day) and not wearing shoes while doing our cool down
-our lucky baton.......that is no longer lucky
-getting super wet from the rain on the 2nd day of state
-laughing at people gettting soaked in the rain while we sat on the bus
-having it lightning everytime Sam and I got off the bus
-looking for tornados on the way home

that's all i can think of

another team, a favorite to win, dropped their baton in the first couple meters of the 4x8 at state

it was hillarious

oh haha i thought of one:
at regionals our guys 4x100 team was talking smack to everyone around us because they knew they were going to suck. and they went up to shelby who has a killer 4x100 and were like "dude its over right now its over just don't even run its over...we got this on lock you guys think your supermans but, your not take that off your chest" (they have red speed suits with a superman s on them for shelby) and then the race started and shelby dropped the baton or something and got dqued. funniest moment ever.

LOL!!! that's one way to get rid of your opponent...

as a team, we got into 3 fights this year. but that's it.

yeah we always just mess with people its so much fun. i love our team. but, yeah wow that was hilarious. we never actually fought with anyone just messing around with them they don't get that mad usually cuz they know their gonna beat us lol.

I've seen people run the 300IH at duel meets who have clearly never hurdled before. When they fall it is kind of sad, but most of the time watching them do a crazy stutter step then hop over the hurdles is hilarious.

yea i hate it when coaches let fat people run the steeple chase.

we don't have steeple chase. but, i always feel really bad for those people in hurdles cuz god knows i couldn't do that but, it is too funny.

yea i get mad when people laugh at people running.

i try not to laugh cuz i know its mean but, sometimes i just honestly can't help it.

yeah, pretty much every second on my track team is hilarious. lets just say thje cops have a strict enforcement near our school during track season

my team is pretty well-behaved but the night before state xc we ran through the hotel where alot of other teams were staying, and yelled and woke them all up...

we also got fake tatoos and dyed our hair the night before

but that was as crazy as we got

We were on our way to state track the day before the meet started and we stopped at Pizza Hut on the way down to eat.
We'll I guess the year before the guys had built a super long straw last year by connecting many straws, but then the waitress took it away. So this year they grabbed a whole bunch of straws and and stole straws from people on the team's drinks and built the long straw.
Then the straw got to long so they set the glass on the floor and tried drinking with their straw and everytime the waitress came around they would hide the straw under the table while the rest of us were laughing our heads off.
