A ton of private schools around here do recruiting, I hate it because thats why they always have a good team. They have no off years.

Basically the coach went around to all the other teams at the beginning of the season and said that the team "desperately needs runners" and that they could just run meets and not come to practice. So basically a bunch of soccer people and a couple of football guys show up at meets when they don't come to practice. I don't exactly like it because they don't work as hard and yet they are treated better than the people that actually come to practice. Maybe it's just my dumbass coach that does that...

oh, wow I'm soo glad my school doesn't do that..lol Our number one girl does soccer and xc but only club soccer and she kicks my butt. But we would be alot better...but I'd probably barely be on varsity =/

Idk if it's just a CT thing, but recruiting for private schools are illegal. They can give you pamphlets, but they're not allowed to try and bring them to your school by contact.

Oh man. One of the schools in the ACAA is still heavily recruiting me. I would have thought considering I raced with the Club affiliate of the school I'm going to next year he would figure out that I'm not really interested in running for his team (they suck balls). This is the first line of an e-mail he sent me tonight:
congrats on your race this weekend! Did you realize that you beat the ACAA Champ from Mt Allison, Parker Vaughan, by over a minute!?! Maybe it's time you consider joining a school that has a Varsity XC team!?!

I go to a semi-big school, like 50-60 each on the girls/guys team which is a small turnout compared to some teams we compete against..
There's a school called Lyons Township around here they enter like 200 girls in the open races lol
