    All-Star Team Empty All-Star Team

Post by Running With Scissors Sun Dec 21, 2008 5:06 pm

I didn't make it but I didn't think I would because I got like 40 something at counties, sucked even worse at districts and didn't make it to state. But the gayest thing is I beat everyone on the list more than they beat me through out the year besides one guy who was the runner of the year. I think the people that made it are clueless and just looked at post-season times because a person I know was also good through out the season and ended like me and didn't get in and I would definatly rank both of us in the top 5 (the list is top 10 i think).

So did you make your all-star team? I think a few people said they did but my list only came out last week (didn't see it til today though)

Nope. Didn't even make varsity, because I was ineligible. Had I ran for my school though, I would have won the conference title individually: I beat the guy who did win by 2 minutes in a race a week after the conference race.

Nah. We had too many really good runners from my school so they only took our top 4... sucked because our 5 & 6 were better than half of the other girls that did make the All-Area Dream Team. I was pretty ticked because the guy that does the article and team said any automatic state qualifier WILL make the team. Well, he lied.

    Why were you ineligible then?

It's a weird situation. My school, and the big school are affiliated. Next year, I can run for the big school. I COULD have run this year for the small school, but I would have pointlessly used a year of eligibility, and I wouldn't have been able to run next year. The two schools are in different conferences, but eligibility crosses over.

i'm guessing this is like the same as making 1st team? anyway, to make 1st team where i live you have to run like an 18:00 5k or something like that. a girl on my team runs around an 18:45 and she only made third team.

I didn't make the Newspaper Dream Team, but I did make 1st Team All-Conference for one conference, and then 2nd Team All-Conference for another conference.
