wow our team sucks compared to yours. Only three girls have ever gone sub-19:30. The average frosh time is 25:18 according to my friend.

nice. what time of day did you race, because that heat would suck.

it was about 5:30 so it was still really bad
What place are you on your team?

that day i was 3rd with 4th being about 4 seconds behind me. our 5th, 6th, and 7th that day were our usual 3rd, 8th, 9th respectively. and our usual number 4 didn't race due to injury

just got back from my first race of the season. We won our varsity race Very Happy we took 3,4,5,6,7.
its stupid though, because they didnt tell us our times when we finish...we have to wait for them to email our coach and then our coach tells us. it was really hilly so i know my time sucked lol.

You would be #4 on my old high school team as it stands now. Granted it's a very small school, but we are pretty good.

This is the trainer we were given. Don't like nike too much when it comes to the regs, but it's ok and it's a free 95 dollar shoe.

The bottom one is my xc spike. I'm not even quite sure what it is. I'm pretty sure it's the Nike Zoom Waffle XC VI. I know it's nike and it's part of the Bowerman Series just like the first shoe. That's the only picture I can get of it. We have the red ones. Oh and they feel amazing.

That would be the kind of kid my coach calls a freak of nature. Wink

We graduated some of our Varsity runners (number two and three), but last year we had three girls go sub-20. Our team is only 16 this year, so we don't know how well we'll do.

I'm so sick of my quads and racing. This may sound retarded that I'm complaining about it.. but every time I race, EVERY TIME my quads just feel like they were shot at, beat up etc.. I know your legs are suppose to hurt somewhat, but it just slows me down so much and its frustrating.. I try but they like just dont go anyfaster..

Sorry lamest rant ever ^ but Basically what I'm asking is, what can I do to get rid of that annoying pain?

Icing stretching and resting. Get in an easy day or just a day off. If you have access, take ice baths because that soothes the pain a lot.

I take a million ice baths (they are amazing)

Its just when I race, my coach says its because I'm not "racing" and if I was really racing then I wouldn't notice or get the pain.. ? eh w/e.

    Nerves?

Maybe you are focusing on the pain because you are freaked out about the race. Your body tenses up and when you hit the pain it makes you panic and exascerbate it? Focus focus focus while you are racing.

I had my first xc race ever last night!!
It was so much fun! It was a huge invitational at night and it was raining so there was so much mud and it was awesome. Very Happy
My time was 26:08 (I'm still trying to figure out how to race it and the course was long). The really cool thing is that I was in the JV race and beat the times of two of our varsity girls! party
Also, a girl fell in front of me on a muddy downhill and I jumped over her!!! It was fricking awesome!! haha
