He is stricly pointing towards the flaws in religion. Why act like a good person if you can still get into heaven. It's about as much logic as Hamlet had for not killing Claudius.

In hitlers case, he wasn't a very good one. What about the crusades?? How is that any better?
Those types of people are christains by name, not real christains.

Re: Where Did God Go?????
The universe always existed. Seems impossible, right?
God has always existed. Seems impossible, right?
So far we're even.
The universe always existed and life turned out to be successful the way it is now even though such a thing can only happen under very certain circumstances. Seems impossible, right?
Since God existed, we were given favorable conditions for life. That's plausible.
Now the religious side is one up.

Re: Where Did God Go?????
1: Yes, but some cosmologists have suggested, that there are infinite #s of universes, which have slightly different laws, and there must be at least 15 which have the ideal conditions for life. Of these 15 there are trillions of galaxies which host untold numbers of stars. Of these stars at least 1 million of them should support life of some kind, which makes at least a few of them host to life that is capable of answering to forum topics.

Re: Where Did God Go?????
Well let me re-phrase it then. Since an ever-existing universe and an ever-existing God are both about equally impossible to believe, and in a universe with a God there is a 100% chance of life versus a .001% chance, it seems that a universe with a God is more believable.CT Track wrote:I didn't understand a word FK was trying to construe.

Re: Where Did God Go?????
He has always existed. Ask an atheist where the universe came from and they will say it was ever-existing. Since they both have that same impossible chance of happening we can proceed to the next step (how life began) on neutral ground. And since life turning out perfect like it has under the guidance of a celestial presence is much greater than it happening by chance, you can argue that a God is more probable than no god.whenhen wrote:But where did god come from?FinishingKick wrote:Well let me re-phrase it then. It was more probable that the Patriots would win the super bowl the but Giants won anyways. So God probably doesn't exist. Iontgivafuck

He should matter to you. Remember: If there is no God, you wasted an hour every week of your earthly life, if there is a God, you just lost eternal life. Why take the chance? It will make you a better person anyway.CT Track wrote:Like I said, I was doing two papers so I wouldn't have to cram tomorrow and I could actually do something. I've said countless times, I believe what God teaches. However I do not believe in an eternal non sensical peice of non-matter that will probably take me to a place where I don't want to go if I suck dick my whole life.

i don't believe that He's a form of matter, except for the 33 years He was on earth. but it really doesn't matter to me, at all. it's like arguing what color Jesus was, it has no purpose.

that's a dumb reason to be a Christian because it's doomed to fail. there are no real Christians out there that are playing the odds like you suggest.FinishingKick wrote:He should matter to you.
