yea, we were discussing this and some people who do believe end up hating god because he doesnt give them exactly what they want. now if i pray. what i receive i take as a gift of guidance because god doesnt always give us the easiest things or the things we want but he gives us the things we need. and idk about the skeptics but they just remain skeptics because they dont try or anything. they dont understand that in order to understand and accept god they have to trust him and believe in him. it doesnt just happen. which i think is the problem with some skeptics they want it to just come to them. but it cant. so thats how they remain. sorry if no one understands that.

the reason I became skeptical as I grew on wasn't because I couldn't "hear him" but I discovered evolution and all that. I guess your way could be why some become skeptical of him but I think more do it just because as they get older they realize it sounds kind of hokey/discover new ideas.

Question: If god created everything then what created him?

is it possible that god was created from nothing? or that he was always here? i dont understand how something even as great as him could be made from nothing.

people seem to easily wrap their minds around the concept that god is eternal, but not that the universe is eternal.

We tell others what to believe so they can be saved. To be "philosophical" again, heres some reasoning for believing in God.

1.) So, lets say for instance that you believe in God, and God DOES exist, then you get into heaven. Now lets say you believe in God but he DOESN'T exist, then you just spent your life being good to others and having good morales...not exactly a bad thing.

2.) Now lets say you DON'T believe in God and he DOESN'T exist. You weren't necessarily a bad person, but you weren't exactly trying to live a life of servitude for others. No big deal. But lets say you don't believe in god and he DOES exist, then you are going to hell.

Scenario 1, worst that can happen is that you didn't have sex with everyone, steal, kill, and be selfish when you could have (not something I would do anyways...). Scenario 2 worst that can happen is you spend eternity in hell.

A little less fun > Hell.

I believe in ways of God, but I don't believe that there is a God. That's the only difference between us. I said before that I believe the point of the Bible and God was to make people account for their actions. Whether or not you agree with me, I believe that we should follow the word of God because we want to, not that we are obliged to. People who believe that kissing God's ass is the meaning of life are the reason so many are doubtful on the existence of God in the first place.

God made worshipping Him the ultimate satifaction. i don't believe walking a christian life is any less fun than leading a sin filled life is.

Yeah, but what if God is one of the thousands of other gods that other cultures are sure will send you to hell if you don't believe in? Besides, many Islams, Hindu, and other people of different religions have a life of servitude.

And then theres Lucifer. Imho, God continually just sounds more and more of a dictator. He makes us serve him and those who oppose him he smites. Satan never physically opposed God. He rebelled against God in a theological way by doubting his existence. What if God was actually the one at fault and Satan was in the right.

+1...some of you probably dont believe there are thousands of other gods but lets just say there is...why would God create those other gods and give you the option of serving them?? picking a religion is so hard.
