Re: Goals for XC?
Well im improving a lot so I dont really have an accurate goal, I ran 5 miles in 31 minutes yesterday so something pretty low.
Id also like like to win my JH conference[approximately 120 kids.] However, I might be varsity this year.

Re: Goals for XC?
Time is totally irrelevant in XC.
I'm just hoping to finish the season uninjured and in better shape than I started. Also, I would like to peak at the right time this year, because last season I peaked about 2 weeks early and then saw a serious drop off by my conference meet.
Hopefully I'll be scoring varsity, but I know that that is the result of how hard my team mates work, I just want to do moderately well.

I would like to run sub 25 maybe 24:30 by the end of XC season, but I'm only at high 26's, low 27's now.

Re: Goals for XC?
I'm still not sure what I'm doing in the fall, but I'm thinking about doing a half marathon, and if I do it, my goal is sub 1:20.
Although I think a better goal is to be able to keep up with the Dalhousie team.

Re: Goals for XC?
I've made the perfect goal: to improve.
It will still take hard work to make it happen, but there's a low chance that I won't achieve it.
It's going to be my goal every season.

This was my goal last year. I feel like that's a big reason I didn't get anywhere. Concrete goals help me focus.HXC_Runner2012 wrote:I've made the perfect goal: to improve.

Re: Goals for XC?
#1 goal is to make the team.
#2 goal is 27:30 8k.
And I don't mean to burst anyones bubble or anything, but the people wanting to go sub 1:20 on the hm, do you realize that is 6:04 pace for 13.1 straight miles? Which also happens to be roughly 4.5 x 18:45 5k.

Goals are meant to be hard. That being said, I dropped 9mins from my half marathon time in 2 months so it is possible to drop a lot of time quickly. Whoever had the sub 1:20 goal, gl.

7k xc runs are awesome, aren't they?
Yeah, sub 1:20 will be difficult, but I don't think it's unreachable. I'm doing long runs and my half-marathon split is usually around 1:33, and I'm certainly not racing.
