    Mourning Mondailies Empty Mourning Mondailies

Post by The Waterboy Mon Sep 08, 2008 6:28 pm

I know it's a sad title but one of my teammates from XC and track died last night and my school found out about it this morning. His name was Justin and he was a senior. He was a very terrific athlete, but unfortunately he was a heavy drug user. I'm not sure if this had to do with his death. All they told us was that he didn't wake up this morning.
I've known him since 7th grade on modified XC to now. He ran low 18's as a sophomore for a 5K, and did the 400 in 55. I'm not sure about his other events. He seemed to get worse last year, not putting up as good times, maybe due to his drug use, but he's still always been a varsity athlete, a great musician, and a extremely nice guy. I'll miss him.

Anyway, I ran 1 mile warmup, and then 4.5 miles, then core. Easy day since our first official meet of the season is tomorrow. It is a duel meet on our home course.

That's so sad about your teammate! mm 5x1000 at 3:21-3:28 but those seemed fast so I suspect they may have been slightly short? but anyway 1.5 warmup, 2 cooldown.
