10 1 mile repeats at a 8:00- 8:39 pace (inconsistent)
Baby:great job on your 10 miler today. 1:28 is not that bad for a person who does 5ks

Why can't you just do a straight forward run?!?!?!?!
In the past few weeks you've done 20x400, 16x800, and 10x1600, all really stupid workouts.
Anyway, 8 miles on some trails. I was trying to find a certain trail but I couldn't figure out how to get on it.....so I pretty much just ran on some trails I've never been on before, and got myself completely lost. It was fun.
Then some down hill strides on our home course, just to work on turnover. I was going crazy fast.

Re: super slow saturdailies
We did an up-tempo four miles.
Felt really good and loose so we took off for the second 3 miles (first was lighter). We also did strides (10) and jumps.

My coach is an idiot. The team placed terribly last year and the year before, so my coach decided to make us do these killer workouts that probably will make us place crappilyHXC_Runner2012 wrote:Why can't you just do a straight forward run?!?!?!?!whenhen wrote:10 1 mile repeats at a 8:00- 8:39 pace (inconsistent)

+1, 10 straight miles would have been more beneficial than that.runnin93 wrote:That's not a killer workout, it's just stupid.whenhen wrote:My coach is an idiot. Re: super slow saturdailies
15km? (unsure of exact distance) with two 1500m "pick-ups" in a park known for its huge hills (it lived up to the hype). Only ran about 1:05 but got to run with a 2:16 marathoner for 10mins on the warm up, which made me feel fast

well today i did an easy twelve in under 90 minutes. legs feel good.
Just curious, how many weeks out from my main race should I cut back on the long runs?

You can get away with 1 long run 2 weeks before your peak race.

5 mile run "easy" this morning.
Like it felt easy but I did good on time. eh no complaints =]
maybe 2-3 later w/core and strides.

I ran 7.62 miles at 6:48 pace. I didn't know it was close to 7:00 pace so I guess it felt good.

Re: super slow saturdailies
.25 mile warmup
7 hill sprints on a hill that is 350 m with a 10.6 percent grade incline
I got 83, 86, 90, 90, 90, 94, 83. Avg of about 88, though I think I was just being lazy on the 6th one.
.5 mile cooldown.

Re: super slow saturdailies
5 miles in the trails (the middle 2.5 mi. was Tempo or faster pace)
then when I finished I had some time to kill before my dad was picking me up...
so I ran another 1.2 miles.
then had more time to kill...
so I did 6x50m hill sprints.
