I do 2 "fun runs" a week with my friends. Its basically a run for the locals. The one on tuesday is easy paced but on thursdays its more of race pace. I've just kind of always done them and is a way to keep me motivated to run. Otherwise I'm lazy and don't want to do shit.

Re: Tricky Tuesdailies
well, this post is going to be sort of a rant because my running plans for the day have been screwed up twice so far!! As of now, I am planning to do 4 miles with 10X30 second pickups... come home, do some core, and then do another 4.5 miles easy.
ok, and here's the rant... you don't have to read it because it's long and boring...
Originally I was planning to go to the track this morning and either do 2X1mile tempo (I like to do tempo on the track b/c it's harder to slack off!) w/ 1 mi. warmup and cool down. Then I was going to do an easy 5 miles later in the day... BUT, my dog got bitten/ scratched/ something like that (didn't see it happen, so don't really know) yesterday and had to go to the vet to get 3 staples in his side. And then my mom decided to take my brother to Boston today to look at colleges, which means I have to stay home to make sure the dog doesn't scratch the staples out. So that ruled out the track plan. But, my mom said they would be home by 3, so I figured I would still have time to do my workout, just not at the track. But then she called a few minutes ago (after I was thinking wow, it's 5:30, what happened???where are they??) to say she wouldn't be home till 7, and I could probably run and just hope the dog doesn't scratch... so that's what I'm going to do in about 1/2 hour, once I finish digesting my dinner.

Re: Tricky Tuesdailies
I officially hate the heat. It was only in the low 80s, but it was 100% humidity, foggy, but not enough that it would block out the sun. It was BRUTAL.
But I still made it through my run, albeit a bit slower than I wanted.

Re: Tricky Tuesdailies
My run today ended up being soooooooooooo slow, 6 miles and I was like barely under 9 minute miles.
I'm blaming it on what I ate I was in and out of the house all day, all I had to eat was a bowl of oatmeal like 12 hours before I ran...

Re: Tricky Tuesdailies
Forgot to add mine I did an super hard fartlek workout. 12:30 total of fartlek, with intervals of 30,45,1:00, and 2:00. There was half rest for all of them. I puked after the second 2:00 interval, and we had to take an extra minute break, and then we finished it up hard. It felt like it was at my 1.5 mile race pace.
