Re: Mccain
Many women voters have a strong appeal towards not only Obama, but his wife also. I believe many Americans will take it as a publicity stunt. With all the changes in the presidential race it will only seem like he chose a woman just to get votes. I am also partially towards that decision also. Also McCain is really weakening if he's attacking Obama's vp. It's still up in the air for me though.

Maybe, but I think the Alaskan governor is to conservative, even for McCain. Plus why did he choose the Alaskan governor when he critiques Obama's lack of experience?

Re: Mccain
I was waiting for someone to make this thread..lol
I do, I think he has to do something equally "odd", new, different as obama. And he needs to be as different from bush as he possibly can, picking another pasty old white guy wouldn't be that great of a choice.
I dont think she was the best choice though, if your going with woman I would have gone for condoleeza or something.

Re: Mccain
I thought it was a wise decision for a number of reasons.
Initially, regarding gender, choosing a woman allows for some of the voters who supported Hilary (primarily because of her gender) to have another option. Many were angered with the Clinton/Obama split (and that he didn't choose her as a running mate) and I could definitely see the addition of a woman to the race (even as VP) as beneficial.
Also, Obama has made a big deal about change. By choosing someone outside of the Washington circle, McCain is demonstrating his ability (willingness) to change the way Washington is.
She is very conservative, but her moral convictions echo those of McCain, and can be demonstrated in several areas. McCain needs to appear morally superior (or at least equal) to Obama for the simple reason that he is not as charismatic.
I don't know much about her as of yet, but will of course be looking her up and critiquing from all sides.
This is shaping up to be an extremely interesting race.

Re: Mccain
Obama didn't have a lot of experience, so he gets a running mate with a lot of it.
McCain has a lot of experience but he has lost touch with the American people, so he gets someone who has virtually no experience and lives in Alaska.
This was a cheap publicity stunt to try a persuade the Female vote. The American people will see it for what it is. IMO Obama has got this in the bag.

hahhah as i clicked on the topic, the exact second, my parents brought it up in the other room.
fun stuff.
hahah. but I don't know much about McCain. I never really had sides but I definetely liked Obama's speech last night. The celebrity come back was sweet. Alot of people think he'd be better off picking hilary as VP, but I don't think so.

Re: Mccain
who cares??? I dont care if my president smokes or not, Its not like he's the first president to smoke anyway.
Someones bad habits (that he might not even have) shouldn't effect the way you vote. Thats just retarded.

McCain could die because he's old, Obama could get cancer because he smoked. What I'm saying is don't not vote for someone because you think they're going to die.Pinthin wrote:who cares??? I dont care if my president smokes or not, Its not like he's the first president to smoke anyway.

Re: Mccain
the chances of mccain dying office are definetly realistic i read it in some article and so its a good chance that his VP could have to step up as president...which would be pretty much a disaster.

2) even if he does, it wouldn't affect him in the next 8 years, which is what matters.
