I dont think so.
I'm pretty sure they have divers to supervise and make sure no one drowns..

i think it'd be hard to swim with a life jacket.
i was speed boating 2 weeks ago with my sister and she got sick. so I jumped off the tube, swam away, and had to wait in the middle of the bay with a life jacket and i couln't really move in it. just sat there.

i think what she meant was, her sister was gonna puke on her, so she decided to jump off the tube.

Life jackets slow you down a lot. Not sure if they're allowed although if you need a life jacket for a triathalon I wouldn't suggest doing on.

In the ironman site it says that flotation devices of any kind are not allowed.
