My [right] shoulder has some pre-existing damage to the ligaments and/or tendons that make it more prone to dislocating when pressure is applied at a certain angle (or when I'm running because of the repetetive motion). It's not nearly as painful as it sounds, but it's nevertheless distracting and hard to deal with while I'm running. It was getting steadily worse and so I went to the doctor for it, and his only real suggestions were to stop running (yeah right) or to wear a brace.
I did pick up a brace about a week ago, but it doesn't actually keep it in place, just hinders movement.
(For the record, it's not as though it's tearing tendons and such when it dislocates...mostly it's very minor and easy to bounce back from.)
Does anyone know of what I might do for this? Or should I just get used to it? Are there maybe some strenghtening exercises that I can do?
