There's this guy, not too many people know him. He is a four time pro-bowler and a super bowl mvp. Not many know him but I guess you would only know him if you were a hardcore steelers fan.

Hines Ward might be the number one slot but he isn't their best receiver. He is past his prime.

    ?????????????????

First off he is no where past his prime and second stop saying slot. The slot is the receiver who is third on the depth chart that players the SLOT position between the TE and the WR.

Ward has more catches and yards than holmes this season. Not to mention he's a better blocker.

well seeing as its impossible for either of those teams to even make playoffs they aren't really an underdog for the super bowl. That's like saying that I am an underdog at the NCAA national championships, it is impossible not underdog.

However, best underdog matchup: Denver vs. Atlanta

Hines Ward use to be better and is past his prime. He is still good but his best days are over. Sorry I meant spot.

Yet he's still better than Santonio Holmes. Ward makes spectacular catches every week. It's not his fault Big Ben is on his ass for over half the game and holds onto it too long to pass to him.

Partly because Holmes was injuried. Ward is the best blocking receiver I have seen I'll give you that.

ATCG wrote:Washington is the slot receiver. I believe he's outperformed Holmes, but they never throw him the ball. He's a deep man like Plax, problem is our QB can't throw deep.
I don't think he has. (goes to steelers.com...)

Now you say thats because they never throw him the ball but take into consideration that Holmes gets the ball because he has the speed to get open. I also disagree with you when you say Ben can't throw deep. I think he is one of the best deep throwing in the NFL today.

I think losing Ward would impact the Steelers more than Holmes but it just seems to me that Holmes is making more of the big plays now.

Because Holmes is a speed receiver. He is their deep threat, hence why he makes the "Big" plays.
