Re: How fast is your coach?
Actually the Tennessee coach wasn't that good of a coach. He had the ability too, but I think when he came on as a new coach (in indoor this year) he wasn't sure what he could really do as a coach. However he's coming on good as coach of girl's outdoor this season. The Daniels one is a lot better, he's our head XC and outdoor coach.AudienceOfOne wrote:wowFK wrote:He went to Tennessee on full scholarship and roomed with Fam. My other coach was coached by Jack Daniels and had a low 4:10s mile, and I have another coach who told us about these really fast training runs his coach made them do but I don't know ho fast he was.
no wonder you have a good team....

we have a ~17:00 5k guy (IIRC) as the distance coach, and the field coach was apparently an absolute badass at the throws back in the day.

Re: How fast is your coach?
My high school coach had a ton of injuries in college, so he didn't reach his full potential there, but about 3 years ago someone challenged him to a race at a local mile race out by us (and he doesn't like to lose) and he ran a 4:46 off of a summer of training.
My college coach ran a 2:20 marathon and I think he just missed out on making the trials.

thats just my xc coach, my track coach is pretty beast too but hes a lot younger.
In college he had around a 25minute 8k (around 5:00 flat per mile). He also had around a 4:10 1500 and a 15:20 5k

That was a really ignorant post.
Do names like Mark Wetmore, or Bill Bowerman mean anything to you?

Most people. I'm just saying everyone on here says their coach is fast and that's because usually you don't become a coach unless you're fast.HXC_Runner2012 wrote:FK wrote:Slow people don't become coaches unless it's a bad school.

kinda same. You can do a league through the city for like football and soccer but thats $$. you cant do sports till 7th, I didn't start till 8th.
Kinda offtopic, but they moved the middle school track season to fall, now we dont have to share the track in the spring time but I thought it was really weird. And it sucks for this little 7th grader we have thats really good, because now he wont be able to do xc anymore.

How can you be an All-American in college with a 48 400? There's plenty of people doing that now is HS.minikrak wrote:my coach was an all american runner at rutgers with a 48 400
