Running with knives (not scissors)

There's a thread on RW called pepper spray or something, asking whether or not people run with paper spray or stuff like that, and there where people saying they carried knives with them... Is it just me or is that really weird?

I bring my cell phone, but that's all..my mom makes me because she thinks that there are like rapists, muggers, and stuff outside if you go out after 6 because there was some creepy/stalker guy sitting in the bushes looking through one of our windows one time (she told me like a month after it happened and I was like..oh...that's nice)

Anyone here run with knives? lol (what if you stabbed yourself )

yea i was like, "wtf" when i was reading about ppl running with knives haha.

I don't bring anything with me running and I usually run alone too

Well, if I ever suddenly stop posting on RT I guess you guys will be able to guess what happened to me...

I always run with nothing except my two fists: "Law" and "Order".

But seriously, don't you guys know you run faster with a knife?

I kinda want pepper spray but I run through town 90% of the time so I feel safe.

Knife?? huh..liike a pocket knife or something crocodile dundee would have?

I run without anything and i live in a bad neighborhood
i figure i could outrun anyone trying to chase me but just in case i dont bring anything valuable to tempt them into trying something

I run with a cell phone and my voice. I almost always run where there are plenty of people around, and I typically have a running partner.

This thread made me paranoid
I went out for my run at the park by myself like always but i was suspicious of everyone today.I kept thinking some1 was going to stab me.

I've been nearly mugged 8 times and successfully robbed once by some guy who roams around the neighborhood at my school robbing ppl.

there was a guy staring through your window? haha that's weird.

i live further out of town on a highway, and one time a guy pulled his car up next to me and asked me if i needed a ride, and when i started running the other way he drove of yelling "noo it's okay, don't tell anyone; i'm safe"
so after that i was freaked out to run alone and haha. so later that week i was homealone and wanted to run, but scarred so i stuck one of my dad's screwdrivers into the waist of my shorts. it was pretty uncomfy but i felt safe lol
well, if i run in town, its a different story cuz there is people all over and if you start screaming someone will come to help or there is always a house or building to go to.

umm i run with my cellphone, moms orders haha. my dads tried buying me pepper spray before but i told him not too. umm yea my neighbor was being stalked by some guy down the street so its kind of forced and my will to bring a cellphone. i live near the highschool like 2 minutes to get on campus lots of people walk there on the trails im always afraid someone will pop out of the trees somewhere and take me.

I take my iPod, no phone, I live in a pretty nice place and I've never really thought about it
Now I think about it though, if someone is going to kidnap me or whatever the likelihood is it will be by surprise and I wouldn't have a chance to shank them butt I should really take a phone its jsut I dont like stuff flinging around in my pocket

I had to run with pepper spray for a while but I got a cell phone for chirstmas so I'll probably take that with me on my runs.

I guess my mom knows him and he lives down the street or something, but I didn't really think that made it any less creepy. I don't really get why she didn't call the police but it's been a while and I haven't heard anything about him since so...

my parents make me carry pepper spray in my purse. but i usually don't run alone i just call up a friend.
