    Peak Race Empty Peak Race

    Post by P2 Fri Oct 17, 2008 9:56 pm

State on October 25th. I'm pumped up right now but a little depressed.

The entire year I've worked hard to improved and designed all my training towards peaking at state. At conferences, I moved from 4th on the team to 7th, and most of my rivals have extended the gap by a large amount as I just plateaued. My question is, is it possible for me to beat someone who normally beats me by 20 seconds? I'm hoping and praying for a peak/breakout performance.

It's possible, just rest up and run ballsy.

Beat him, maybe not, unless he have a bad race. Stick with him til the end but get out kicked because you're tired from running faster than you ever ran before, is possible.

How fast do you have to be to go to states in North Dakota?

No, we dont have a lot of runners in the state. The cut-off is pretty much if you're team is class A or B, and then only 10 people on your team get to run.
So qualifying is being top 10 on your team and then school size determines which division.

And there aren't many teams in my division (class B) with enough people to fill a whole team.

It's okay. I'd try and cheer for you but I probably wouldn't be able to pick you out. But I'll be thinking about you during your race.
