Meet on Saturday Empty Meet on Saturday

Post by Tri Babe 518 Fri Oct 17, 2008 12:25 am

So today I stayed home from school and didn't go to practice yesterday because I am sick. I've been ridiculously tired and I've had a horrible stomachache and headache. My mom was sick with what I have last week and it took her a week to get over. Every time I eat I feel like I'm gonna puke. There are only three meets left this season (not including Regionals and State); one Saturday, one a week from next Tuesday, and one two weeks from Saturday. So I'm not really sure what to do about the meet on Saturday. I skipped the last one, but I've already run enough meets to qualify for the Regional and State teams. My mom has been getting on me because she thinks I've been skipping out on the meets, when I kind of have (trying to avoid certain people), but it's mostly because I've been sick almost every other week.

So my question is, what do I do about the meet on Saturday? I can either run a sucky race and risk passing out because I probably won't eat anything before or after, I can go and give "moral support", or I can skip it and run when I am fully well. So what should I do?

Go to the doctors. If you are sick every other week something is wrong.

whoa weird I had the same thing last year/

Last year during track almost every friday or every other week i had a fever. I went to the doctors and they didn't know what was wrong and didn't really look into it either. Then I got pneumonia so they think it might have been building up to that.

I suggest you go to the doctor too if your sick like that.

Talk to your coach to see what he/she thinks you should do. My coachs pretty much control whether I run or not.
