Off topic: I ran a 10 miler today in 1:02:04. I was really surprised at my time because I was taking it easy and talking the entire time and crossed the finish line with out the slightest bit of tiredness. I had to stop and wait for some one to catch up to tell me wear to go at this one place. 9 miles of it was on a gravel trail. Most be the power of GU.

I also voted until I can't.
And great job on your 10 miler! I would be lucky to run 1:24 in a 10 mile training run.

Competetively: until HS ends
For fitness: until I can't
I just don't think I'll have to guts for serious races after HS.

Re: How long...
I'm going to compete until college ends, or if something bad happens and I'm told I can't compete. I don't know about running. My body is naturally fit so I can't say I'll be doing it everyday.
Actually I might still compete in local races when I'm older, but who knows.

Re: How long...
college: not good enough.
But I'll do local 5k's etc.. until I get too old. Even if I become one of those who is so slow you could walk faster then them..I'll keep on running.
but probably not as much, just because I doubt my legs will last that long.

Same here. My only chance, if I have one, to be good will be in the longer stuff like the marathon.
