Mileage Per Week Empty Mileage Per Week

Post by FinishingKick Fri Jul 04, 2008 9:33 pm

I just calculated my weekly mileage totals for the summer, and I'm not sure if I'm doing enough. I started training June 18th, 12 days after my last track meet.

These are my week totals, starting with this week's (ending July 5th):

    25.4 (5 days)
    30.2 (6 days)
    30 (5 days)
    35 (6 days)
    37 (7 days)
    40 (6 days)
    44.1 (6 days)
    47 (6/7 days)
    50 (6/7 days)

    They are all in singles.

I was thinking 50 peak this year, 60 next year, and 70 senior year.

The most I've ever hit was probably around 35, and that's with 9:00 easy runs.

Seems like you're doing fine. You might want to just hold it at 50 for 2 or 3 weeks and see how you feel.

And why not get up to 60 over the winter for track? Even 800 runners benefit from an uber base.

I just remembered you probably do indoor...

If you are still feeling good then you are fine. IMO you should stay at 50 for a few weeks and then start bumping it up. Since you are already at 50 you are probably going to want to peak at around 60

I don't think I can do 50 for more than one week. That 50 is the last week of August and after that is September where my coach will be telling me what to do, which probably means 30-40. No

    Yeah, haha

its because i do it all based off time and then go map it on mapmyrun so it rarely turns out to be a nice even number; so really i'm just hitting times that i know the mileage for

30 min. ~ 4 miles and so on

I've hit 50's for 2 weeks but after running with some college guys(who meet up as unorganized practice) I somehow hit around 65 this week and luckily wasn't injured from the big increase of mileage this week.
