Well I don't mind if it's just your opinion that abortion is bad. Everyone can have thier own opinion. I'm just arguing against the people who want it to stay illegal. By that, I'm talking about in New Zealand (where I live). Strange, but in a secular nation like ours, abortion is illegal except in rape, to save mothers life and so on. I don't understand how the US, a religious nation, has a more liberal stance on abortion than us. Over here, there was a polynesian immigrant, whose father said he would kill her if she didn't get it abortion. She couldn't get one, and had to go through with the pregnancy. She lied to her dad, saying she got an illegal abortion, because she was so scared. She had to stay at her friends house to hide the fact that she was still pregnant. In the end, she was so scared and confused, she gave birth in her friends toilet, the baby drowned. She's not a murderer, just a threatened and a confused girl. The pro-life groups murdered the baby, and sent the mother to jail (she only got a few years, to the circumstances, but I bet it has scarred her for life). No one wins, apart from the pro-life groups. They get to feel good about themselves. Complete, utter bastards.

You can't murder an embryo. No matter how hard you try. It isn't a living organism. And it's pretty trivial, to say 'if you don't want it, give it up for adoption'. This would only make the mother feel guilty. I don't think it would happen that much, when the child has been born, mothers have maternal instincts. No matter how hard it might be for them to keep it, no matter how much it would mess up the mothers life, some would feel as if they have a duty to keep it, once it's born. It's a duty that has been forced on them by people who think they know better.

But seriously, that story about the baby drowning, the mother could've just gone to the government and told them her father was forcing her to get an illegal abortion. Even if she didn't, there's no reason why she had to give birth in a toilet.

And about pro-life people only making abortion illegal because they feel good about themselves, if I made the law I would make abortion illegal but not because of that reason. I would do it because I know that it's wrong and I want as many other people as possible to do the right thing.

Think about it, make abortion illegal and save thousands of lives. Make it legal and save one baby's life every now and then. Who knows, maybe the "non-living embryo" you just killed would've turned out to be the next president, Nobel Prize winner, or even you.

ok i still dont get how an embryo isnt a living thing...it has a heart beat...even some bacteria is considered a living thing...

omg. have you? if youve actually seen them you would realize that your killing a human being. they have fingers and toes at even 7 weeks. that is so sad and i saw a picture of one at 24 weeks and it had hair it would be like a preemie baby pretty much. ugh that is so sad to see.

I don't believe in abortion, but I am still pro-choice.

Think about it: what if abortion were illegal? Women could still go into a back alley with a clothes hanger and take care of the thing themselves. Not only would the baby end up dying, but quite possibly the mother as well. Abortion is a terrible thing, but some women will always find a way to do it, whether it is safe or not. Making abortion illegal would only cause more problems.

Now those pro-home birth people...they're just crazy.
