Snow day today, so all the public schools are canceled and my morning lecture was canceled (afternoon class is still on). Good thing, because I was going to sleep in anyway, I only didn't miss anything
Hill workout today, shouldn't be too heavy because of the race yesterday.

i'm really torn...we have off school today and my coaches decided that they weren't going to bring us in for official practice but that distance group (me) should do 6, the middle 2 being tempo. but it is snowing kinda hard and last time i ran in the snow my eyes were stinging and it was really slippery and dangerous. according to weather.com it's not going to stop snowing, either. so i think i'm going to do stairmaster for 45 minutes and have the middle 15 be faster or something? i really don't know, and i took off saturday because it was like 2 degrees windchill. soo i'm not happy. but i think this smiley is hilarious?! hahahaha

Ugh, painful 4 mile run. My quads hurt so bad. Hopefully they feel better for working out today with my trainer.

Re: Martin Luther King Jr. Mondailies!
After we warmed up (it snowed today, but only a little bit because everything's warming up), we did a 45-minute Fartlek and 8x100 hills. Then we did a couple striders and 2x10 (setxrep) in the weight room.

Warm up
Strides & Drills
8xhill repeats, 50m surge, 25m recovery up the hill.
More Drills
Cool down
11.5 total.
The footing was bad to start, and got atrocious at the end. We had a lot of snow and then a lot of rain today and then the temperature was just going down during the workout, and so the first repeat was ok, but the last one the hill was almost all ice.

Re: Martin Luther King Jr. Mondailies!
Right now I'm focusing on what will be on the lacrosse tryouts. It's kind of like football where you have to sprint a little bit, and that hundredth of a second makes a difference.runner_dude wrote:Whenhen: What is the point of the 5m and 10m sprints?
I'm putting distance running on hold for right now.
