When we are working on conditioning for speed, later on in the season, we sometimes run 30/40x30 meters along with the zoo and some static jumping. I like it mostly because it helps me (I have no power in my hip flexors at all, which is why I'm doing so much jumping this summer), and it's fun.
I also like the days when we do middle distance intervals because I race the 800 and it keeps me honest with my pacing.
