lagat has always had someone shining in front of him. sometimes it was webb, sometimes it was el g. he wins a couple races in a row and you guys are acting like he's been undefeated the past 3 years. it's finally lagat's time to shine, not webb's or el g's.

I wanted Rupp to jump out on the track and slay them all with his Breathe Right strips. He would then procede to win the race while Abdi swam laps in the steeple pit. Then Adam Goucher would want in on the fun, so he'd petition the USATF for bigger steeple pits.

I'm really not sure where that came from.

Edit: I also forgot the part where Webb launches Pre's memorial rock at Ritz out of frustration. Ritz deflects it with Tyson Gay's hamstring and runs away.

Back on topic, I really would have liked to see Webb make the team, but he started his season too late, DNF'd too often, and was generally unprepared for what was basically a championship race. And when Waterboy says he would have liked to see "someone like Webb" go to Beijing, I'm pretty sure he was referring to white people. The U.S. 1500 team has a severe lack of caucasians.

I'd say Rupp's whiteness more than makes up for any lack of caucasians on any U.S. Olympic team. The dude's awesome and crazy-fast, but he does come off as a little nerdy.
