Re: 8th Grade Mileage
cant you just determine this yourself? youre the one who trains and you expect us to know a time better then yours?
It's the same thing here, so stop being a hypocrite.
And why would you assume most of us already know all of your prs and mileage?

Re: 8th Grade Mileage
if sub 18:30 is a legitimate goal (I dunno your PRs TBQH) I'd say look into peaking in the mid 40s mileage wise.
I dunno what kind of training you do in XC, but 40 mpw during base, and try to keep it in at least the high 20s during the season should get you there unless you are running 20s in the 5k right now.

You're still wrong. Only you can know when you're going to burnout. Your body will tell you. It's not like there's a certain mileage where once you hit it you're burnt out.
And when you go and find out what the word h-y-p-o-c-r-i-t-e means, you will realize that I'm not one. You are actually even more of a hypocrite for getting on turnover's case about spelling, then spelling hypocrite wrong.

plus its seriously one typo, jeez. i get on his case for typing wrong EVERY SINGLE TIME!(which by the way I apologized for) It was barely even a typo. I knew how to spell it, just forgot the eye. youve got some nerve to get on my case after just ruining the thread. if youre not gonna answer, leave.

Re: 8th Grade Mileage
I actually did answer.
But if you want the kind of answer you're obviously looking for, here you go:
Every 8th grader should run exactly 37.68433 miles each week.
I'm not trying to ruin your thread, I'm just getting the point across that everyone is different and there's no set mileage that will work for anyone.
And don't call me queer. No matter how much you think it is, it's not a good insult, and I'm pretty sure nobody's offended by it.

Re: 8th Grade Mileage
Well, I started my base back in December. And I've kinda peaked this year at thirty miles and now from what I've been hearing from a lot of people (not just on this forum) that 20 mile per week might even be to much.

Re: 8th Grade Mileage
well lower mileage, and think of running as fun. no need til about frosh or maybe a little bit earlier to start getting competitive, except for girls. they get better earlier.

Re: 8th Grade Mileage
well that sucks, I mean I do think running is fun but some of that fun goes away if I can't compete.

Re: 8th Grade Mileage
wait til xc, talk to your coach, XC is competing but that way your not getting to the point were youre going to burn out at 15. Youre going to be very good someday and who knows if you even go pro!
