Does D3 really suck this bad?

i remember looking at the T&F News mag ansd seeing the D3 results....16:52 5k?????? seriously????? did they all have broken legs or is D3 seriously that much of a joke?

There are plenty of legit D3 programs, but you have to expect a lot of D3 athletes to not be so great, D3 is more about participation than competition.

There's even worse leagues - the CCAA (Canadian Colleges Athletic Association) where most of the schools are smaller than 1000 people. The NATIONAL winner was about 28 minute 8k.

haha i thought you were talking about high school too...my bros college school is d3 hes captain lol.
not really sure what his times are though he usually places pretty well though...but idk.

d3 schools also cant give scholarships...so they dont get the faster runners

Yeah, I could have gone to one of those schools and won national championships, or I could go to a school where I'm not the best, but I'd actually have comeptition.

D3 is still competitive, just not as good as D1. There is a runner at my school (D3) that ran 14:23 indoor for 5k, and I would say that is pretty decent. NAIA is the non-competitive college sports association.

i saw the D3 results though and i thought the winner was in 16:52.

I'd probably rather just join a running club at a D1 school than run competitively at a D3 school.
