    plyometrics? Empty plyometrics?

Post by futureNIKErunner Tue Jan 20, 2009 7:59 am

i just have a few ?s on plyometrics

    1. its the offseason for me, track doesnt officially start till around march tenth and meets around late march,
so how often should i do plyometrics in a week

    2. For how long?

    3. And my usual routine consists of high knees, lunges, skips, a ton of different jumps, moutain climbs, and some other
    stuff. and other ideas?

and right now i try to do them three times a week for 15 min, until track.

We do some of those drills as our warm-up for workouts and such. We do some of the other drills after workouts too. You could keep them up through most of the track season if you wanted to.

same here. Then when our coach isn't looking we just run to the other side of the field...(we usually do it on the fb field). Its a tad sad.

But I would add some maybe with a medicine ball, you should gooogle plyometric drills for better ideas.

We do them during warm ups (straight leg, skip for distance, skip for height, butt kicks, high knees, ect.)

    I'd go 4 or 5 times a week. It isn't like weightlifting.

my coach always makes my team do plyometrics or some other kind of exercise right before our run after we do our drills but none of the girls really do them but most of the guys do. I don't know if they help or not. Oh and we also do them after our run mixed in with weight training everyday
