No, but I wish I was.
My track coach won't let me do both indoor track and swim.

But, my best friend's dad owns the local recreation center, so I have the opportunity to swim there at any time, even when its closed to the public, which is pretty sweet.

I also live on a lake, so open-water swim practice is always available.

Does your school have club swimming in the summer like mine does? I don't do it but I could if I wanted to.

Looking at your avatar you look like you would be a good swimmer. Maybe you should build a base for spring track in the winter and do swimming. That way you will have a better track base and be able to do swimming.

No, it doesn't, but I would definitely do it if they did.

I almost did just that, but my coach guilt tripped me into doing indoor again. Next year I'm feeling is going to be different, and I'll most likely do swimming and build a base on my own like you said.

Can't say yet, because I'm not making my list of races for the summer until Sunday, but I'll let you know then haha.
I have to plan them out because there are a lot between running road races, cycling races/rides, and duathlons/triathlons.

Most likely 2-3 duathlons, 2-3 sprint tri's, and an oly or 2.

haha, i want to do one.
my and two friends are going to do a sprint tri this summer i think.
not as a race but just stick together the whole time and do it just to finish and have fun.

but same here, i can't swim well! i could handle biking, and running would deff. be my strong point lol

some day i'll need to practice.
i always feel so dumb taking up a lane at the Y though because its 'lap swim time' so that means like all the good super hardcore swimmers are there so then when i suck and have to stop every 3 or 4 laps to rest they might get mad that i'm using up a lane when they could be...

For those of you saying that you always wanted to do a triathlon: go for it!
They are incredibly fun, whether you are racing for real, or just out to have a good time and see what one is like.

I'm sure the other active triathletes on here will agree.

Yeah, totally. They're so amazingly fun and if you do a super sprint or even a sprint, you don't have to do a whole lot of training if your goal is just to have fun.

I'm a pretty weak swimmer, and there isn't really a lake or pool nearby. When i'm in college I'm sure I will try one.
