So i attempted my 50 minute easy run about 5 minutes ago... and it didn't go so well. The moment i step out of my door, i see that the entire side walk is covered with black ice.... i almost fell down 3 times just trying to walk out of my front door. So i take about 5 strides on the sidewalk and see that it is impossible to run on. I was slipping like crazy and couldn't even stand up without falling over since the black ice basically covered everything!! So i decide to run on the grass part of the sidewalk, where the people shovel their snow onto which is 2 to 3 feet deep... and.... the "snow" isn't really even snow anymore since it crunches and cracks like its frozen... . I run on the grass part of the sidewalk for about 30 seconds before i start thinking that i should just stop because i have to lift my legs incredibly high just to get over the 2 feet of frozen snow... i turn back and start walking back home after no more than a minute of running....
So... what should i do guys??? Its kind of impossible to run outside... Is going to a gym and using a threadmill my only option?? BTW the snow wasn't too bad a few days ago... there was a snow storm and there was 3 feet of fresh snow then it melted... and froze overnight.... and now the sidewalks are covered with black ice....
