Kind of weird...but do you include warmup and cooldown in your mileage for the week or whatever?

Re: Warmup/Cooldown Mileage
I do, unless my cooldown in really really slow because of a hard workout. If its too slow, like slogging, then I won't.

Re: Warmup/Cooldown Mileage
Cool downs and warmups are usually only for workouts, but regardless I don't ever keep track of my mileage. Or minutes per week considering we run by minutes not miles.

Re: Warmup/Cooldown Mileage
I count cool downs after running, but after my hockey games I do about 5 minutes easy running, but I don't log that.

Re: Warmup/Cooldown Mileage
I count warmups but not cool downs for my log, because my team cools down at about a 12 minute mile after a long run

what about strides?
like if you do 4-8 100m strides. would you count those in the mileage?

Re: Warmup/Cooldown Mileage
I count warmup if it is part of the run (like if I run somewhere to stretch and then continue to run in the same direction) I don't count it if it is 2 times around the track then stretch and then go for a run on the road.
I don't do cool down runs during distance/tempos. I do count cool down runs after speed work though.

I don't count my warm-up when I do it at practice, because we always just run like 2 times around the track and then stop for 10 minutes or something.

Why the hell do you need to cool down after a long run? You should be going slow enough that you wouldn't need to?
