Re: Three mile Thursdailies
Hella awesome workout today. It's 9 days before conference, so this is the hardest workout, at least in terms of intensity, not volume.
3 mile warm up
7x1k, with a good sized hill, going every 5 minutes (the rep takes you 3 minutes, you get 2 minutes rest)
8x100m hill sprints
2 mile cool down
Total: 10 miles
Times for the 1ks: 3:16, 3:12, 3:08, 3:11, 3:07, 3:07, 3:06. (Average 3:09/km, 5:04/ mile)
This workout took a LOT of guts, but it was a big breakthrough. One of the coaches told me afterward that if I were eligible to go to the conference meet (I can't be varsity this year) I would have punched my ticket to the meet through that workout. I ran balls out, and I was placing about 5th or 6th in each one.

Re: Three mile Thursdailies
7 miles and it sucked. The last two days I had a headache but today I found out I have a fever. I felt like sleeping on the side of the road and I was dizzy as hell at certain points of the run.

Re: Three mile Thursdailies
Had to miss meet today for dr.app about my legs. Turns out I do indeed have compartment syndrome (for those of you who dont know what it is..well consider yourself lucky=/ ) So I have physical therapy for a while and if that doesnt work out I have to have surgery. =[

Re: Three mile Thursdailies
ran our regionals meet today, became first boys team in our school's history to ever qualify for state, pretty exciting stuff!
I ran a 17:31, legs just in so much pain, each step was a struggle; it's like they've been breaking down in the workouts over the past couple weeks, even on the easier tempo mile repeats versus actual 4 miles straight. Right now I'm just satisfied that we fulfilled our goal, it was amazing

Re: Three mile Thursdailies
OH and this is really cool.
The sports med doctor I went to was the official doctor for the track and field athletes in beijing. NO JOKE. So I talked to her about all the athletes and what they were like and she was surprised I knew so much. It was aammazing, I couldn't believe that I was seeing the same doctor as jeremy and flanagan, and gay annnddd goucher etc... saw!!! it was crazy, so at least I know shes good.
and she said I reminded her alot like goucher. I felt like I should have gotten her autograph or something. haha
