we don't really buy it that much but when we do have it in our fridge, i drink it after a run
yes, shit loads of artificial growth hormones and lactose molecules that are impossible digest is just awesome for a post run snack. And when you throw in the chocolate, it makes it even better!!

seriously, I read an article on how chocolate milk is a good post run snack because 1c. of fat free skim milk has I think...8 grams of protein, somewhere around there and then the chocolate is carbs to replenish the carbs that you burned off. and don't forget the calcium!

Re: milk!!
yea i've heard chocolate milk is a great recovery drink.
unfortunantley i cant handle dairy products to well, so i get the craziest superbad stomach-aches if i drink chocolate milk after a run. i thought if i kept drinking chocolate milk after my runs, i'd eventually be able to stomach it. i was wrong lol, i did it for like 3 weeks and i had 3 weeks of stomach-aches.
i stick w/ gatorade now lol

Re: milk!!
I heard that raw milk is good. It is fresh from a farm without any pasteurization or anything; virtually untouched/tampered with by man.
I drink skim milk. There are more nutrients per calorie but I honestly don't care about that as a reason to drink it. If you are interested in losing weight while maintaining nutrients it could be a factor in choosing skim though.
For example lets say that a serving of 2% milk is 100 calories and has 8 grams of protein and 30% of your daily calcium. Skim milk also has 8 grams of protein and 30% of calcium per serving but is only 50 calories since there isn't any fat. If you drink 100 calories worth of milk, then you can get 16 grams of protein and 60% of your daily amount of calcium with skim milk. If you drank 2% then you would get half the nutrients for the same size serving. This is a rough estimate and I made up the numbers, but you can look at food labels and see for yourself.

Re: milk!!
Well, that depends on where you're getting from the milk from. If we're talking unpasteurized milk from cows that are being injected with hormones, that isn't such a great idea. If we're talking naturally brought up cows, it could be alright, but there's also a reason that life spans have increased over the years. I'd still go with pasteurized.
