Random Talk / I'm nervous!

Ok. So my coach called me tonight and gave me some news. He is now on the coaches panel that helps rank xc and track teams in the state. He studies things like CRAZY! and so do I. I can name off any area athlete's PR off of the top of my head that's how much I study track and XC stuff! Well when he called me, he asked me if I could help him out the next few years when he does the rankings. Oh my gosh! I got really excited but then I started to think about it a little more...that's a TON of work! lol We have to now not only rank the teams in our own division, but teams in other divisions through out the entire state. He told me that I have to find as many results from races through out the ENTIRE state so we can hurry and put together our first rankings list in something like 2 weeks.
Ok sorry about this random post but I just felt like posting something somewhere because I'm REALLY nervous about this. But then again I probably shouldn't be TOO much...

I'm a total race result junkie too. It always makes me mad when race results aren't made available. At the end of the year our coach gives us a season book with everyone's race results as well as every runner's PR in the history of our school (or at least since 1981) and every runner's freshman PR. It's given me a lot of hope for the future to see people who ran 20+ 5k's as freshmen go on to run 16:0x.

Do you have to do it?

I help him put a booklet together too that has all that same stuff in it. It takes a TON of time but we usually only have a few days to get it all together so we work day and night on it at the end of the season.

I don't HAVE to help him with the rankings, but I kinda feel obligated to since my coach and I are super tight and I already help out with a bunch of other things so...just another thing to add to the list but something with a ton more meaning that is going to be going out to every coach in the state.

Yeah it was against a team we had to beat in order to win our division so I had to run good. There was one kid that beat me by 5 seconds but he wasn't on the team we had to beat plus it was his course.
