United States wins over China Empty United States wins over China

    Post by P2 Sun Aug 24, 2008 2:55 am

Despite all the crap about project 119, USA took over the medal count at the end of week 1 and now, in the last day of the Games, USA has a guarantee of winning the medal count.

    Currently:
    USA107
    China98

    with 9 medals remaining.

Congrats Team USA! Also, congrats to China for taking the most golds which is the winning indicator there.

If this interests you, though, I read an article that took out all the judged medals such as gymnastics and boxing and it was a tie in golds with USA and China.

Well China should have the highest gold count. Their population accounts for one third of the world.

    1/5th.

But when you look at the breakdown, China won most of their medals in subjectively judged sports, such as gymnastics, diving etc, while the US won most of their medals in Objective sports, like track. Until you can find a way to eliminate judges biases and cheating in those subjective sports, I don't think they should be in the olympics.
