Since I'm a senior this year, we always hold a girls sleepover to help the team get to know each other better and bond. Does anyone know any good team bonding games that are fun? We want to have some things planned as opposed to just playing it by ear because that led to us playing "never have i ever" last year, scaring the crap out of the poor little freshman.

Team Bonding Games
Hey Guys,
Since I'm a senior this year, we always hold a girls sleepover to help the team get to know each other better and bond. Does anyone know any good team bonding games that are fun? We want to have some things planned as opposed to just playing it by ear because that led to us playing "never have i ever" last year, scaring the crap out of the poor little freshman.

Re: Team Bonding Games
Running together binds people more tightly than lezing out at a sleepover.
Just play some games of ultimate after practice for added effect.

Our indoor coach promised us team bonding activities but he never got to them. Then he coached girls in outdoor and they played ultimate frisbee a bunch of times.

Re: Team Bonding Games
if you guys like video games, doing a battle of the bands in rock band/guitar hero is really fun.
ultimate frisbee is great too.
karaoke is really fun even if you dont like to sing.
making pizza from scratch is fun even though its not really a game.

Re: Team Bonding Games
We had enormous Rockband parties where you had to completely get into it, crazy stuff
or play the frisbee game where it starts out just throwing a frisbee around in the street and running after forcing cars to stop in the middle of the road. of course this naturally ascends to us acting like velociraptors that charge at the cars

Re: Team Bonding Games
we played this game at our camp. get shaving cream. a bag of cheetos(per team) and break into teams. 3 would be ideal and 1 can of shaving cream should work. 3 people 1 on each team need to sit in a row spread out of course and you put shaving cream on the top of their head and all over their face. make the teams stand like 5 or 10 feet away and they throw the cheetos at the person with the shaving cream on them to see which team can get the most to stick. i cant figure out how to get a picture up otherwise i would post mine of this game. others are random trivia. hillbilly golf tournament.

Re: Team Bonding Games
Last year at camp we did blind-folded obstacle courses where other team members have to direct the blind folded people one-by-one through the course without touching them.
-split the team into 2 groups
-one group will line up at the start of the course and get blind folded
-the other group will spread out throughout the course to give verbal directions to each blind folded person that comes through
-send the blind folded people into the course one-by-one or just spread out so they don't run into each other, and as they finish have them pass the blind fold on to the next person in line.
*To make a course just find a bunch of trees and rope them into a path. Place garbage cans, chairs or whatever you can find on the path as obstacles.
It was really fun.

We played capture the flag in place of speed workouts in middle school. It was fun I guess, and it wasn't too bad for a speed workouts, because it was in the middle of a big field so there was no where to hide or anything.

Why would you have the sleepover the night before a meet? That will tire you out more than playing frisbee.Love For Running wrote:we have a meet that morning so something like frisbee is most likely out, everyone will be tired

I just got back from a team challenge course. It took 4 hours to do everything. But it helps get the team to work together.

Re: Team Bonding Games
Just simply doing easy runs is a good way to bond and every so often we have parties and bbq's. I admit the less popular and new kids dont get invited so it doesnt help bonding that well.

same about the last part, in track.. this one girl has a really nice house and she always invites the upperclassmen and the lower ones she likes and we just do stuff.haha but it does kinda seperate our team
my coach lives on a lake and we run, swim and then have a bbq so thats as much team bonding we do besides team dinners.
You could just head out for smoothies or something after practice, thats what we do sometimes and just talk.. might sound kinda lame though.

Re: Team Bonding Games
Pasta parties before big races... sometimes we go to someone's house or sometimes we just go to Bertucci's. We always invite everyone, but usually the people who aren't that into it just don't show up. We also make shirts before practice. Sometimes we go out for ice cream after. Also before invitationals we do "secret psych"... basically secret santa except not for Christmas. We draw names and then get running related gifts/candy/food for each other. And of couse, bus rides are great team bonding too!! Oh, and dance parties in the parking lot.

we have spaghetti dinners too. the one team that should have one our league 2 years ago had one and they all except for like 5 got food poisoning so they got like 6th. so be cautious on doing spaghetti dinners.

Doesn't going out for ice cream the night before a big meet defeat the purpose of the party?*sg* wrote:Pasta parties before big races... sometimes we go to someone's house or sometimes we just go to Bertucci's.
