Wash. They strengthen your feet while taking away all the benefits you are running strides to enjoy.

You would be better off running regular strides, then like a mile barefoot cooldown if you really want to do some barefoot running.

Barefoot strides really aren't enough to get the benefits of barefoot running. Do like a mile barefoot or build up to doing 4-5 mile easy runs barefoot. Whenever I double I do an easy barefoot run in the morning.

I do strides barefoot whenever I can, doing strides barefoot helps you to use proper mechanics, and that's what a stride is all about.

From what I hear, they are supposed to make you run on the front of your foot. I've done them before, but I prefer it with my shoes on. My coach has us do them.

Nobody said that they weren't helpful. They just said that they aren't as beneficial as doing an actual run or cooldown barefoot.

minimalism isn't beneficial. i do not know any coaches that think prolonged runs barefoot are helpful

Shoes stay on for me. I do strides in flats. I'm not going to race barefoot, so I get similar benefits running them with shoes without the risk of cutting up my feet...that and I'm kind of a pussy.

wait so..you guys go for runs like completely barefoot on sidewalk and pavement?

we just started to barefoot strides and we do 6-10x100m and they are always on grass.

wouldn't it be hard on your feet and dangerous with rocks and glass on the road?

We never do barefoot strides. Everyone is always afraid that they'll accidently step on something. If our coach every sees us barefoot he about flips. So...I've never ran barefoot...ever.

haha no definetly don't run barefoot on pavement i've done it before and its fine for a little while but it kills after more than like 50 meters..definetly stick with grass mainly because it has more cusion. the pavement kills your feet if you don't have shoes on because, its so hard.
