Seriously people, "Oh my gosh, Tiger Woods won with an injury! Let's make him our god!"

How about all the runners who have kept going in marathons when they're hurt? How about that??

hah my friend is a cheerleader and she goes on and on about how it's a sport and how much muscle she has.

i just keep it to myself, but i don't really think cheerleading is a sport.

    My friend thinks marching band's a sport... I don't.
I'm sure it's tough to walk around with a giant instrument or twirl around a giant flag in colorguard, but I still don't think that qualifies it as a sport...

Also, if cheerleading doesn't count as a sport then what about gymnastics as well.. since it's a "panel of judges" judging both. Or even ice skating.

IMO, competition cheerleading is a sport, but regular cheerleading (standing on the side of a football field waving pom-poms) is not.

I would say they're both around the same achievement, degrading golf in this instance only hurts your argument.

That reminds me of the time I got a letter from this Scholar Athlete program last winter, and one of the "sports" was chess. Seriously, anyone smart enough to be invited to something like that can do chess.

one of my friends is a cheerleader and we always argue about that. But she also does hurdles and basketball so she is an athlete.

Some of them kinda are because they usually are gymnasts too, unless they're the kind that just stomp and yell.

Maybe that's what people who do the respective sport would say about something like gymnastics or golf.

Point being: Most people think just running isn't considered a sport, a feat of athleticism it is but not a sport.

Yet somehow NASCAR drivers are more fit than most baseball players. Racing require a lot of concencration, strength, and endurance. Also I'll agree poker is not a sport, but it is also an entertainment and very competetive and rakes in a lot of money for ESPN.

I know! they may practice all day, but it's not a sport.
I appreciate what they do, but I don't like it when people insist that it is Neutral
go do a real sport if you want to boast about your athletic endeavors.

I agree, they may not think it's a "real" sport like football, but they don't put it on the same level as ballet and cheer leading.

I love when they say "so and so lost _ pounds" in sports like baseball and football, that shows how lacking their fitness is in that particular area.
