    Two-a-days Empty Two-a-days

Post by Tri Babe 518 Sat Aug 02, 2008 12:25 pm

What do you think about two a days during the season? My coach doesn't want me to do more than what we do at practice for now, but that will change. I already do two a days 3 days a week and I like running at dawn. I was talking to my coach today and he said not to do two a days during the sason because it will make me tired, but I don't get tired with two a days now. I want to do two a days, but I don't know if I should. If I ran before school, it would only be 3-5 easy miles 3 times per week.

    What do you think?

It's a great way to keep your mileage up during the season. Do it anyway. If you're used to it, you won't get tired, and your coach won't notice. At the end of the season, drop the doubles and you'll hit a big peak.

I double up during the season sometimes, but only with an easy 2-3 miles on hard days (so, 3 times every week). I think the only real issue is that you have to be careful that you aren't losing sleep because of it. Make sure if you're getting up early, you're going to sleep earlier.

Is this the same RWS we all know and love? I was expecting you to tell her that "every time you double you add 4 seconds to your 5k time"

i'll probably be doing doubles during the season as well, cuz we only run like 3-4 miles during practice...my coach doesnt really coach us, he just tells us to go out and run and be back like 40 minutes later lol.

Sounds like my old coach (but that was okay with us, because it was mostly the guys who got neglected).

Our new coach works with both track teams (100+ kids) so mostly he doesn't know us very well. I'm pretty sure he only remembers me because I ran my first xc race with one shoe... Rolling Eyes

I don't know what I'm doing. I just run. I don't care how far as long as it's fast. If I'm going fast I'll be happy. When I'm happy I kick ass. AND I REALLY LIKE TO KICK ASS.
