Junior Elijah Greer breaks Mike Granville's Junior (class, not age group) 800m record (previously 1:47.96)

Absolutely balling time, #4 all time athlete on the 800m list. FYI, the high school 800m record is 1:46.45, Elijah will be a senior next year, maybe it goes down (although 1:46.45 is flying)

Fantastic race, IMO, almost as impressive as German's 2 mile.

Why I said almost, and it is very close. That 2 mile record wasn't anywhere near as hard as the 800m record is, and on top of that, everyone knew German was going to get the 2 mile, most people were just talking about how much.

Oregon, it was over a 2 second PR as well.

Joe Franklin got a 1:50 today, he smashed that.

Umm...nobody even came close to Ritz' 3200 record of 8:41, and when German crushed that, he ran a 3200 equivalent of 8:31.2, a full 10 seconds faster. That is by far the best race high school distance has seen since Webb killed the 1 mile record. And to tell you the truth, Germans double is very comparable to Webbs 1 mile in awesomeness.

no idea, most people love the sprints, but then skip over that to the mile in highschool track.
and no one cares bout the 2 mile.

the mile gets respect dont know why but it does

For most fans, they can't watch anything longer than the mile. It has the perfect length of time for action to unfold and everybody is somewhat familiar with the mile.

the mile does have a good length and it is long enough for stragey to kick in and exciting things to happen
