yeah, even though hk belongs to china it is a special administrative region (SAR) so it gets treated as its own country a lot. an example aside from the olympics where this is displayed is on some websites where it says to choose what country your from; Hong Kong will be on the list as well as china.
but yeah, it gets treated differently mainly because it was a british colony for 100 years, and making hong kong conform and be like the rest of china would piss alot of companies and people off and cause alot of trouble.
