    sore back Empty sore back

Post by mary XC Wed Jul 30, 2008 7:43 pm

my back has been hurting ever since this morning when i went running. do you know how to help it?
2 other girls on my team had the same thing happen to them and they said they flipped their mattress upside down, does that work?
i think it started hurting b/c last night my sister tried to stretch out my back. anyways, any advice would be appreciated

Leaning forward causes back pain, improper form. Other than that I don't know massage, ice etc.

You can stretch your back by sitting down on the ground, then putting one foot over your other legs knee, and using your upright knee as a lever against which you can push your arm and stretch your back.

    Meh, it will go away.

Yup, and you should probably do some extra stretching. Sometimes a piriformis strain can manifest with back pain, especially if you're not adequately warming up/cooling down.

It'll probably clear up with icing and stretching, but if not, you might want to get checked out by a chiropractor to make sure everything's in alignment and such. If you've dropped a hip or whatever, you'll want to get it corrected.

    is that a good magazine?

i used to get RW, but then i realized it was for slow people, so i got T&F News(costs a lot) but it doesn't have any advice.

    how's RT?
