I'm doing an Alaska cruise and I hope to run at some of the places we dock at as well as make use of the track on the ship.

Running on vacations?
Are any of you going on any vacations this summer and if so are you going to run during the trip?
I'm doing an Alaska cruise and I hope to run at some of the places we dock at as well as make use of the track on the ship.

Re: Running on vacations?
just weekend trips...when im with my family, yes, ill run
but when im with just my friends i think its kinda rude to ditch them for a run. so ill suck it up and not run for a day or 2..

Re: Running on vacations?
if its like a weeklong trip, i'll usually 4 out of the 7 days im there.
if its just a weekend or 3 day trip, i may do 1 run, but usually just wont run at all.

Re: Running on vacations?
I was just on vacation for two weeks. I stuck to my regular schedule. My vacation weeks are shaping up to be my biggest weeks of mileage, as I'm planning to hit 50 for the first time when I'm in Costa Rica.

Re: Running on vacations?
My only "vacation" is for PEAK, which is kind of centered on running
Might go to the beach with friends or something later in the summer, but I'll be running there if I go. I get antsy and moody when I don't run, so it's kind of a requirement.

Re: Running on vacations?
I went on vacation for about 1 1/2 weeks and i ran about 4 times over that period.
Right now I'm taking a couple days from running because my parents wont let me run on the road (July 4th drunk drivers) and I dont feel like running in the fields.

I'm planning on keeping my schedule, which will be tough because we're driving to Oklahoma, meaning I'll probably end up having to run on a treadmill at a few hotels.

Re: Running on vacations?
When I was on vacation during spring break over track they had a really nice fitness center to run in. I just couldn't run 2 days when I got so burnt the backs of my knees got swollen, so I couldn't really bend them, so I hurt like crazy.

Re: Running on vacations?
Actually, I'm going to band camp, and I'll have a little trouble getting any sort of good mileage while I'm there. It's the week after XC camp, so I'll probably be ready for an easier week, but I'll probably try to run an hour each day I'm their (45-48 mpw). It should be easy after the week of death that XC camp is going to be.

Re: Running on vacations?
I'm on holiday at the moment, no way I can get any running in. I wanted to, but it's around 40 to 50 degrees through most of the day. So I'm taking a bit of time off!
