I can't make myself eat anything for 2-3 hours before a race. I have some bad experiences with the mid-run runs that I don't want to relive.

so you could still eat it 2 hours before. It's the gels that have to be eaten close to race time.funrunner wrote:FK wrote:After? Power Bars are for before. Have you even looked at the wrapping? It says Step 1: Energize.silly runner:) wrote:for after a workout or race power bars are the besttt.

Re: Best Tasting Nutrition Bar
i like the clif bars. i just started eating them, and they are really good.
Powerbars are ok. I think i ate them so much on meet days, that i got sick of them. Clif bars have better flavor, and actually taste like something.

i eat like an hour before a race. i would rather get a cramp from eating right before a race than get a cramp from not eating at allFK wrote:so you could still eat it 2 hours before. Re: Best Tasting Nutrition Bar
I'd rather get a cramp from not eating than shit myself at the finish line. I run on an empty stomach quite a bit (most of my runs are done in the morning right after waking up) and I've never experienced cramps from not eating.mary XC wrote:i eat like an hour before a race. i would rather get a cramp from eating right before a race than get a cramp from not eating at allFK wrote:so you could still eat it 2 hours before.
