    Thankful Empty Thankful

Post by xotrackkgirl Mon Jun 23, 2008 4:00 pm

So I have something on my mind, and I thought you guys on here would understand it the most.

I was on the road today, driving behind a handicap van. There was a man sitting in a special chair in there, and he looked so lonely. My heart bled for him, and then I started thinking how lucky were are to have 2 working legs. Sometimes we get so caught up with times and wins, but the truth is, we're really lucky to be able to run. We have a special gift, and I'm proud to say that no matter how fast or slow I am, that I am very thankful to be able to just get out there and run.

That is so true, sometimes you don't recognize the true value of how blessed we are until we see someone who has it taken away from them. Sad but true. Thanks for reminding me of this...great posting

    agree

and its kinda the same if you think about 3rd world countries, we complain that we didn't get an iPod for Christmas..we should be thankful that we even have food and a house. Sometimes we get too caught up in ourselves to think about others.

    good job =]

    Well said.

My sister would give anything to be able to run like a normal kid, but thanks to a TBI, she's stuck with a limping, uneven walk. She loves coming to my meets and cheering, but I know that deep down she wishes she could be out there too.

It humbles me, and reminds me to be grateful that I am given the opportunity to run, however slowly.
