Re: how many of you
I have a coach who wants to work with me, I just have to get around to going downtown for the practice. I don't think he would charge me though - he's a pretty chill guy.

Re: how many of you
my xc/track coach doesnt really coach us because hes really lazy, so i usually just ask my dad for advice (He runs a 2:47 marathon and a low 17 5k).

My coaches eliminate any need for outside training advice whatsoever.

my coach is so easy to get one on one advice and everything and she really understands what we need individually so i wouldn't even consider a personal trainer

Re: how many of you
why do you really need a trainer? I would get a running coach rather then a dude that yells at me for being skinny.

Re: how many of you
haha a personal trainer is a running coach that meets to your specific needs...if you want to lose weight then maybe he would yell at you like that but if you want to be good im pretty sure your not fat...idk where you got that lol

Re: how many of you
^ I know what you mean. Our track distance coach never did distance, she was a sprinter! she kinda coaches xc too =[ For xc the middle school coach is actually better (which is really sad) My school is retarded and kicked the good coach, who had a daughter that ran 4 something miles, out. >=/

Re: how many of you
That really sucks about your coaches.
Same here though with the middle school coach being better; all the distance girls on the ms track team can run sub six... we only have one girl who can do that on the hs team...
Our coach actually does distance, but her "coaching" is, "okay, go run X miles." nothing about form or pacing or anything worthwile.

Re: how many of you
Our coach doesn't have us run enough. Last year when I was a major weanie, I thought we were pretty hard core, running 3 days a week. Looking back, I had no right to be disappointed with my improvement. Our track coach is even worse. I can't tell you how many times our practice was just 4x200. Some people just aren't fortunate enough to have experienced, knowlageable coaches at school.

i was thinking about a personal trainer for this summer, before i transfer. (going from division 5, to 1......kinda scary! ) anyway, ya it would have been really expensive!
