    Too much? Empty Too much?

So my coaches have very high expectations for me(And dont get me wrong, I have the same for myself). Anyway, my first meet is next Tuesday, and I have a feeling I'm going to be doing the 1600m, the 800, and the 3200m. And then maybe the 400m in the 4x400. Is that too much? I think I'm just going to try it for the first meet, and if I can do it, great. And if I can't, I'll tell my coaches that I need to switch off on events. What do you think?

I'm guessing now that will be too much, I guess you can try it but your times will be a lot slower since you'll be dragging. So don't get discouraged if they aren't what you want..

You can't fully race 3 events in a meet. You can hardly race 2 (especially distance). 5 is too much to do, unless you just run some of them as workouts, which takes a lot of discipline. IMO High Schoolers race far to often anyway.

Drop the 800 or the 3200. if you're doing the 4x400 then definently drop the 3200.

Is the order of events the same in every state? If so drop the 2 mile because thats right before the 4x400

^^Um, I have no idea lol. I think the mile is first then between that is the 4x100, 400m, 300m hurdles. Then it's the 800. And between that is the 200m dash and then...oh shit I just found out it is the 3200m then the 4x400. Lol, there is no way I could do that.

Yea most meets have the mile, the 400, 300H, 800, 200, 3200, 4x400. I forget though it's been a while. The 800 and after is correct, I just forget where the 400 and 300H are placed between the 100dash and the 800.

Oh wow... that's a ton of running. I know that my coach would NEVER have someone do all of those distance events for their 1st meet. Mid-Season is when he starts doing that to people. Yea I would try to drop one if I were you.

We always do the 1600 and 800 or 3200 on my team. Never all three. Sometimes only one. And a couple people may do the 1600, 800, and 400 at a few meets. Remember, if your meet is after school (which I'm assuming) you won't have that much break between events. I wouldn't do more than two.

Oh, so I talked to my coach today, and tuesday is our first meet and I'm going to be doing the 1600m and the 3200m. Thanks guys! Anyways, he says I dont have the sprint speed yet to do the 800.

^^Oh, no. I wrote that wrong. In was only going to be in the 4x400m. And our team is not ready for relay yet, and Im only going to be in it because I'm the 2nd/3rd fastest speed wise and so he needs me for the relay. I am definatly not fast enough for the open 400 lol.
