    the ; suggests her being without a man is a seperate idea
    wehn the second i"without her man " is a prepositional phrase describing the woman which i think is correct

    We talked about this in my English 10 class.
    Our teacher gave us a paper with the sentence on it, and he told us to punctuate it. Most girls put it the 1st way, and about half of the guys did too.
