YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We're going to state!!!!!!!!!!!

Today was the semi-final game to decide who goes to state football next Friday. We had to travel more than 3 hours to get to the other town but it was worth it. WE WON and we're going to state for the first time ever in football!!!!!!!!!!

The day started with the police, firetrucks, ambulances escorting the team out of town at 8:20 a.m. and then followed by all the parents.

They had gotten a ton of snow up there just the other day so they had cleared the football field with a snowplow and put all the snow on the track. The fans were suppose to stay off the track and behind the rope going around the track. Well that didn't happen we stood on top of the snowbanks even after they announced it 3 times.

It was also about 20 degrees so it was really cold for everyone. But after we won everyone rushed onto the field to congratulate the team.

Then when we got 3 miles from home they had all the police cars, ambulances, firetrucks, and fans to escort the bus back into town. After that everyone went to the high school gym where all the coaches, players, stats, cheerleaders, and waterboys talked.

So this means next Friday my school will not have school and everyone will be in Grand Forks to watch the game. I still can't believe we actually won because we've come so close before but we've never made it and this year we did.

our football team just lost their second playoff game, so they are done now.

We went defeated last year...but this year we won half of the games at least...but we still suck. lol

Rushing the field must be fun.

We are ranked 5th for our division (1a) which is cool I guess but usually we're ranked higher. Hopefully they can make it too state without screwing upp.

Thats cool how your town does all that though.

We probably would have escorted them into town but my dad had only got a couple hours of sleep before he woke up to go to the game so he wanted to go home. But when we went by we honked the horn and the guys on the bus started yelling. But they go right by our house on the way to the high school so my dad parked his struck outside and pushed the panic button and we stood there and watched everyone go by.

That sounds so awesome! So how far will the team go do you think?
M team is awful. We haven't won a game since '05.

Its in the Alerus this year? Dangit, too bad neither Central or Red River made the playoffs. But hey I might go and watch the games I live like a half a mile from the Alerus so thatll be fun.

The 9-man and class A play on Friday and AA and AAA play on Saturday. Our town has pretty much gone crazy over this whole thing. We had a community pep ralley tonight and the moms of the football players have decorated the whole town.

Well I just got home from the state football game and we lost.
But the guys still had an awesome season and this was the first time our team has been in the state game. There was a lot of pressure on them and they really sucked on defense. They let the other team score 20 points in the first quarter and we couldn't recover from that. Our QB got senior athlete of the year which he most defintely deserved even though based on that game you wouldn't think so. We had poor coaching and they shut down some of our main players. But it was still fun being at the game.

No my town DID NOT win. We lost. We are in the 9-man division. I'm not from Watford City who's mascot is the wolves. Our team is the Williams County Firestorm.

Yeah. North Dakota has 9-man football since there are a lot of small schools that have a hard time filling a 11-man team. We were 11-man before but every 2 years they go through the male enrollement of the schools and figure out who has to go up a class or down a class. We had to go down 2 years ago but next year we will be going back up to play 11-man again since our male enrollement went up.
And yeah our school is pretty small so we co-op for football with another town and we still didn't have enough kids to play 11-man.

our football team has had 2 consecutive winless seasons. if they don't win a game next year, our school board has decided to cancel football at our school, which is gay

The crazy part is we have to go up to 11-man "A" next year and watford city has to go down to "A" too which is insane since they have tons of kids.

We were really bad for a lot of years and then about six years ago we formed a co-op with our rivals and then we got a lot better.
