I had the wettest cross country ever.
It was ridiculous, as we were walking the course and warming up it was just a light drizzle, good English weather perfect temperature etc, then 5 minutes before the race the heavens opened: it poured. I ended up doing it in my rugby boots because of how muddy it was and i was still slipping over everywhere, at the finish, I realised I had lost my glasses, my shirt was see through, and I could poor water out of my boots - Good old English weather.

I love those days. Those are the days that you forget about pain and winning and remember you're out there to have fun.

yes and no. Its not like a constant downpour just always grey sky with drizzle/light rain. I like it but sometimes it makes me sad =/

That was basically the story of half my xc season right there! lol
The 1st meet of the year we had a 2 hour lightening delay...the course so amazingly muddy that I told my team just to have fun and run through the puddles so we did.
Rain always makes for a good story afterwards. Always miserable during, but good story afterwards.
